January JAM Kids 2011

Our Fruit of the Spirit for January was Goodness.

We used an apple to help us to think of goodness

because an apple is just so good!

God wants our lives to be filled with goodness.

When we arrive, we put our "fruit" and scripture
on our Fruit of the Spirit charts.

Mila is a student from Ukraine who
visited JAM Kids in January.

Each person could create a "Goodness Guy"
with an apple for his head.

Jack and John check out the church flag in the entry.

After cutting out the apple,
it is stuffed with paper and stapled on the edges.

Completed fruit goes on the Fruit of the Spirit Tree.

Sometimes it is difficult to work the stapler.

Story Time

We got out the Play Doh and prepared for the story.

Our Bible story was taken from Mark 12:41-44.

There was a collection box at the temple

where crowds would go to give their money.

Jesus sat and watched all the wealthy people

come and drop in large amounts of money.

Then came a poor widow who dropped in two coins.

Jesus explained to his disciples how

her donation was greater than

all those that came before her,

because she gave all she had.

While others gave a portion of their income,

she gave it all.

Jesus sits outside the temple.

People would put their money into the basket.

Time to EAT

Our supper included

apples, of course !

Bird Feeders

In this cold and snowy weather,

we turn our hearts toward all of God’s creatures

and we used peanut butter, dried fruits,

and bird seed to make bird feeders.

It will be fun to see who comes to share our gifts!

GYM TIME!

Thanks, Lily, for the lift!

CAMPFIRE TIME

Gathering by the fireplace for singing.

We start out with silly, active songs.

Our last song is always the prayer for our friends.
"God be with you, and bless you, Lisa.
God be with you, Lisa, and bless you every day."

Whitney and Ryan helped with campfire and games.

And now it is time to head for home.

Blessings to all, and we'll see you next month!

Scripture Verse: Matthew 7:12

"Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you.

This is the essence of all that is

taught in the law and the prophets."
