Our Crafts were focused on PRAYER

The Lord's Prayer can be displayed at home.

We each painted a rock. This became our "prayer rock."

“I’m your little prayer rock . . .
And this is what I’ll do,
Just put me on your pillow
Till the day is through.

Then turn back the covers
And climb into your bed
And whack, your little prayer rock
Will bump you on your head.

Then you will remember
As the day is through
To kneel and say your prayers
As you wanted to.

Then when you are finished
Just dump me on the floor,
I’ll stay there through the night
To give you help once more.

When you get up next morning,
Clunk, I’ll stub your toe,
So you’ll remember your
Morning prayers before you go.

Put me back upon your pillow
When your bed is made
And your clever little prayer rock
Will continue in your aid.

Because your heavenly Father
Cares and loves you so,
He wants you to remember
To talk to Him, you know! “

Teach Us to Pray

THE DISCIPLES LEARN TO PRAY - Luke 11

Jesus was praying under a fig tree. When he was done, the disciples said, “Jesus, we want to open our hearts to God like you. Please, teach us how to pray.”

Jesus said, “It’s easy! God wants to bring you close. Talk to him like a friend and He will listen. Even if you cannot find the words, God hears what is in your heart. You can start like this:

Loving Father in Heaven, your name is blessed. May your dream
of love and peace come true and may the whole world become new. Give us each day the food we need to eat, and help us to forgive, the way we have been forgiven.” (From “Children of God Storybook Bible” by Archbishop Desmond Tutu.)

Carolyn shared a story about Jesus and he said about how to pray.

Prayer does not need to be fancy or have big words.

We decided that it shows respect and honor if you kneel.

We all knelt and recited "The Lord's Prayer" together.

It is good to talk with God at the end of each day.

Then Whitney showed us some sign language for "The Lord's Prayer."

And now we are HUNGRY!

We have a new parachute!
Everyone played together and had SO MUCH FUN!

Where is everyone?

Call a number and trade places.

Bouncing balls.

Raise it high and then let go.

And we end by singing together.

Some songs are crazy.

Next month will be our annual Family night!
