JAM Kids - September 10, 2014

 Jesus And Me Kids' Club

"In that day the wolf and the lamb will lie down together and the leopard and goats will be at peace.   Calves and fat cattle will be safe among lions, and a little child shall lead them all."
                                                                   Isaiah 11:6   The Living Bible

The Peaceable Kingdom

 September schedule of activities

Everything is ready!

Our animal of the month was a bird.

This is the way to fold the tail.

We looked up scriptures, working with a partner.
It was fun to find the name of a bird in each scripture.

Our story was about "The Lion's Whisker"

In that story, a woman had the desire to share her
home and her love with an orphan child.

This was not an easy task!
She was told to get the whisker from a living lion!

With help of the village “healer” the woman
discovered that through patience and love,
she had the courage to accomplish her goal.

Then we met in small groups to
talk about ways that we can accomplish our goals.

After dinner, we had "cooking class."

It was fun to make edible birds' nests.
We used Shredded Wheat and melted chocolate.
Oh yes, and "jelly bird eggs."

First, you need to smash the cereal.

Then the chocolate is put into the plastic bag.
Mix it really well before opening the bag.

Press the chocolate nest into a small muffin tin.

Add the birds' eggs.

After some time in the refrigerator, the nests might look like this.

All of the games in the GYM
were related to BIRDS.

Singing Together

Way up in the sky
The little birds fly
While down in the nest
The little birds rest
Shhh! They're sleeping.

With a wing on the left
And a wing on the right
The little birds sleep
All through the night.
Shhh! They're sleeping.

The BRIGHT SUN COMES UP!
The dew goes away
Good morning, good morning, the little birds say.

 "My God is so BIG,
  So strong and so MIGHTY . . . "

Time to Say "So Long"

Let's get this nest into a container to go home.

 See the bird I made?

Max:   When will I be old enough to be in JAM Kids?
