JAM Kids Take Down Walls and Build Bridges
During craft time, the children decorated an arch bridge puzzle that is more easily constructed if two people work together. An arch bridge is held up by a keystone (Jesus) and two firm cornerstones, God and the Holy Spirit. Other words on the bridge are qualities of people who build bridges in relationships.
Our main activity featured a large wall of boxes. When JAM Kids entered the sanctuary space, half of the group sat on one side of the wall, dividing them from the others. There were words on the wall that expressed things that divide us from the peace of Christ. We did not like to feel separated from our friends.
We took down the words and broke down the wall, transforming the wall into a bridge!
And then, one by one, pieces of the wall were removed.
And now we have a bridge!
Caroline's doll crosses the bridge.
It took teamwork to remove the wall from the building.

Everyone had a turn with the balls.
