Tonight's theme: John the Baptist Baptizes Jesus
As we gathered, we made paper doves.
And then we learned the story of John the Baptist
John was a man who wanted to live a very simple life.
He felt that having a lot of things wasn't important;
instead he traveled the desert and told others
about what good things God was doing in his life,
and how God could do good things
in their lives too.
For food he ate insects like locusts
(which are kind of like grasshoppers);
he would find some wild honey to eat with them.
Our locusts looked like this.
Not everyone wanted to try them.

Aidyn was "John the Baptist" and he baptized Jesus.
Gido held the dove that landed on the shoulder of Jesus.
John took Jesus and baptized Him.
He placed his hand on His back and laid him down into
the water until He was covered.
Then he brought Him back up again.
As soon as Jesus was baptized the sky opened up
and the Holy Spirit came like a beautiful white dove,
and landed right on Jesus shoulder.
Then a voice from heaven said,
"This is my Son, I love him and I am pleased with him."
We then learned about gifts of the Holy Spirit.
How can we be helped by the Holy Spirit?
Lifesavers: A life preserver saves you from drowning.
Maybe we might make a bad choice. It’s okay! Everyone does.
The Holy Spirit can be that help that gets us back safely!
Hand sanitizer: Hand Sanitizer keeps us clean.
We need to say clean and worthy so the
Holy Spirit will always be with us!
Several JAM Kids were the readers.
It makes us feel better when you are sad, sick or lonely.
The Holy Spirit is often called a comforter.
It is always there to lend us comfort in time of need.
ANYTIME we can pray and ask God to send the Holy Spirit to help us.
It is time to eat!
