October 8, 2014 - JAM Kids
Our featured Peaceable Kingdom “animals of the month” for October were insects, specifically the honeybee. When the children arrived, they used watercolor paints to create a habitat for honeybees. Some chose to paint a picture that was already printed. Others painted their own original pictures.
We met in small groups to "buzz" through the Bible and find the animals and insects in the scriptures.
We actually focused on the many wonderful traits of honeybees! Not only are bees astounding creatures that play an important role in our world, we can learn a lot from them about being better members in our families and communities.
We played a game - testing some special jelly beans - to see how we felt if words were "sweet or sour."

It was fun to play a game which helped us learn how important it was for a bee to go from blossom to blossom, spreading the pollen and collecting the nectar.
Some people were "trees."
Others were the honeybees.
The bees would collect pollen and nectar.
Lots of activity kept our hive "buzzing" all evening!

Focus on that which is positive and be a sweet example to others.
Bee Sure to Share and Serve
Honeybees spend almost all of their time feeding other bees.
