JAM Kids! April 8, 2015

Spring has arrived!

April JAM Kids

While waiting for everyone to arrive,
we used colored pencils to enhance "God's Garden."

And then we planted lettuce!

These seedlings are 5 days old.

If you do not have a space to put the seedlings into the ground,
they can be transplanted into a larger pot.

Our "Animal of the Month"
The Donkey!

As we add animals to our Peaceable Kingdom,
we come to the donkey!

Donkeys are healthy, hardy animals.
They often live for 25 or more years.

Donkeys can be used just like horses under saddle
and in harness, although donkeys are more laid back in nature.
They prefer to do what is good for the donkey,
which is not always what the human thinks is best
(especially when it comes to getting their feet wet.)

Our story today was told from the perspective of a donkey.
This was the foal that carried Jesus into Jerusalem.

Scripture Search

Reading the scriptures aloud.

Fill in the words.

Matthew 21: 2 and 5
"Go into the village over there,"
he said, "and you will see a
     ___________________ tied there,
   with its _____________ beside it.
Untie them and bring them here….
Tell the people of Israel, 'Look,
your ___________ is coming to you.
He is ______________, riding on a
donkey, even on a donkey's colt.'"

Our food blessing included prayers for friends who were sick.

Dinner Theater!

Music and sharing during dinner.

Jack played his trumpet

 Nathan played the piano

Maddie is an expert with the cup game.

 Jayden has learned to whistle!

 Abigail played the piano.
And then Carolyn joined her on the left hand.

 Shawn played his djembe.

Ivan showed us his Pokemon cards

Caroline sang "Reflections" from the movie MULAN.

 Great job, everyone!
Thanks for sharing, and
thanks for being a good audience.

DONKEY Games in the Gym

Pin the tail on the donkey.

Our donkeys are ready for tails.

Ivan's tail is in the right spot.

Donkeys are often beasts of burden.

How much can one donkey carry?

 Hurry, donkey, hurry!

Time to Sing and Say "Good Night."

Love is the flag that flies!

"Humble Yourself before the Lord
and He will lift you up."

Easter Egg Hunt - April 4, 1015

A Celebration of Family and Community

Annual Easter Egg Hunt - 2015

A special time for family fun!

On Thursday evening,

1600 plastic eggs were filled!

On Friday evening, we set up the gym.

Take down the "crash pads."

Set up tables and chairs.

Sort prizes.

 Great helpers sorted prizes
and placed them on tables.

"Prize tags" were put into eggs.
And soon, we were ready.

SATURDAY

Four tables of prizes are waiting!

This table is ready for little artists.

Soon, there would be a line of children
waiting to get their faces painted.

Inside, cookies, fruit and snack mix are put onto a serving table

While outside, 1600 plastic eggs are placed on the lawn.

And soon, people came by foot, pushing strollers.

 Others came by car.

 Children hunt by age group.

 Lots of parents and grandparents
are on hand with cameras.

 Following the "hunt"
it is time to gather for prizes,
refreshments, and visiting.

Thank you to all who helped
to make this event so much fun.

We enjoyed seeing friends and neighbors.
We loved seeing families having fun together.

Sunday, April 5

Breakfast at 9:00 a.m.
Easter Worship at 10:30 a.m.

All are welcome!

 God of Transformation,
we have traveled through the darkness of Lent
and into the light of Easter morning.
Now we set out on a new journey,
one that will lead us beyond the cross
and into the world we are called to serve.
Shine your light upon our path, God,
and fill us with new life.
Amen.
