JAM Kids - October 14, 2015

Stewardship of Time

There is time for everything,
and a season for every activity
under heaven.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

  We made some "seasonal" crafts.

Edible Acorns

And we could make a witch riding a broom!

 Thanks to our youth leaders!

Then we had so much fun

trying to identify baby pictures!

Each person had a list of the kids the way they look today.
We put a number beside each name.

Then we checked our lists.

We talked about how we use our time.

Being a good steward of our time is not always easy.
There are things to do each day that are fun, important, and urgent.
There is a tendency to do the “urgent” things first
and put the important things aside “until there is time.”
We need to clean our rooms, brush our teeth,
eat dinner, cut the grass, or  take the dog for a walk.
All of these things might be called “urgent.”
And we may forget the things that are really important:
praying to God, spending time with family,
doing something kind for others, and saying “I love you.”

We had a glass jar that represented our daily schedule.
Plastic eggs represented the things that are important.
Small pieces of candy represented things that may be called fun or “urgent.”
If we put the urgent things in first, there was not room for the things that were important.

However, we discovered that if IMPORTANT things
were put in first, everything else would fit.

 Dinner Time!

Thanks, Bev and Judy!   We appreciate you!

Then and Now

Each JAM Kids decorated a page with that we

called "Then and Now."

GYM Time!

Thanks, Brandon, for organizing relays!

 Free Play after our relays.

Ending the evening with song.

We hope to put the IMPORTANT things first!
