No Hand Too Small - JAM Kids

A New Season of JAM Kids begins!

No hand is to small to help another.

Leaves are beginning to turn color.   It must be September!

 

 We are ready to begin!

 

 

   

Then wolves will live in peace with lambs.  

And leopards will lie down to rest with goats.

Calves, lions and young bulls will eat together. 

     And a little child will lead them.

The Kids Arrive

 

 Tonight, the children received the first two sets of “No Hand Too Small” game cards.   

By May, they will have the entire set of these cards.    One card will have a scripture reference and a picture representing that Bible scripture.   

The companion card will show children of today who are living examples of that particular scripture.  The cards are color coded.    The game is played like “Concentration.”

We all decorated boxes for our game cards.

 Important Stories  

 We had two books to share!

One was "The Story of Ruby Bridges."   It is a true story of an extraordinary 6-year old who became the first African-American girl to attend an all white school in the south.  This moving book captures the courage of a little girl standing alone in the face of racism.

 Ruby prayed for the people who were not kind to her.

 "One of Us" by Peggy Moss is a wonderful story about Roberta who is  welcomed by different groups on her first day at a new school, only to find out that she does not fit with them for some reason.   But by the next day, members of each group realize that friends do not need to be alike in every way.

 We were able to share in small groups some situations which call for helping others or for peacemaking.

And then, Fun in the Gym

 Each team had 5 people but four carpet samples.

How can we get from one end of the gym to the other

without "falling into the water?"

 

 We needed to work together!

 And then we had a "human knot" that needed to get untied.

And "Free Time!"
