Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness,

Goodness, Faithfulness,

Gentleness, and Self-Control.

Against such things there is no law.

Scriptures for October

Everyone should be quick to listen,

slow to speak and slow to become angry.

James 1:19

So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep,

but let us be alert and self-controlled.

1 Thessalonians 5:6

NEW Members of the JAM Kids Family!

Dick printed up photos of our new JAM Kids
for their picture frames.

Lots of things to do in the JAM Kids Classroom!

We each cut out a basket of blueberries.
Some baskets stayed to decorate our "Spirit Tree."

It was fun to make and decorate frames for our pictures.

Time for the Bible Lesson

As Susan tells the story of the month,

we each illustrate the story using Play-Doh.

The Bible story to illustrate self-control was selected from James.

James compares the tongue to a horse's bit, a ship's rudder,

and a spark that can start a forest fire. We need to become

members of God's family and ask for His help in order

to learn to control our tongues and say things that are pleasing to God.

James was using his words to help others.

But after reading James's instructions, it might

seem like it's better not to talk at all so that we

won't be tempted to say wrong things!

But, James believed that with God's help

we can control what we say and our words can do a lot of good.

Did Susan say to make a horse?!!!

Hurrah!
Our FAVORITE dinner!

And then it was time for fun in the gym.

The "Itsy Bitsy Spider"

We learned some new songs at Campfire!

"I Ziggy Zumba" with lots of actions.

"Left, left, left right left. . . Let me see your Funky Chicken!"
"What's that you say?"
