Stewardship of Environment
It was a dark and rainy night.
At 5 p.m., the wind began to blow
and rain came pouring down!
And THEN the news came: potential tornado!
So the children who had just arrived
went to the safest
place in the building:
The storage closet in the gym.
It is underground.
It is probably the safest place in town!
We headed upstairs,
and there we used some recycled
cardboard tubes to make napkin
holders for a holiday dinner.
The storm didn't last too long, and soon almost everyone was there!

signed the papers agreeing to the sale of northwest lands to the U.S.

The church is called to “…bring fresh vision to bear
on the perplexing problems of…environmental deterioration”
The earth, lovingly created as an environment for life to flourish,
shudders in distress because creation’s natural and living systems
are becoming exhausted from carrying the burden
of human greed and conflict.
Humankind must awaken from its illusion of independence
and unrestrained consumption without lasting consequences.
We talked about the ways that we could help the earth.
And then it was time to eat!

We assembled a "Thank You" gift
to give to someone who has been special to us.
