 Finally, the weather is getting warmer.   Snow is melting.

 Ireland is an island country, located in the North Atlantic and it is the second largest island in the British Isles.    Politically, it is divided into two sections - The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom.  (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.)

 The island’s geography comprises low lying mountains that surround a lush plain.   

The climate is influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, so it is  moderate.   

Winters are warmer than you might expect for being so far north, 

and the summers are cooler than the continent of Europe.   

It is often rainy or cloudy.

 Kelsey shared information about Ireland and the Blarney Stone.

We then learned about St. Patrick, and how Christianity was brought to the country.

 

 

Before our meal, we shared in a traditional Irish grace for blessing the food.   

Bless, O Lord, this food we are about to eat;

and we pray You, O God, that it may be good for our body and soul;
and if there be any poor creature hungry or thirsty walking along the road,
send them into us that we can share the food with them,
just as You share your gifts with all of us.
 

(Our dinner included green “Jello Jigglers.)
